The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) has deployed emergency response coordinators and released an initial grant of $500,000 following a 6.8-magnitude earthquake that struck southeastern Turkey early Tuesday morning.
Immediate Response
Working through established partnerships with local organizations, UMCOR is providing emergency shelter kits, hygiene supplies, and clean water to affected communities. The earthquake, which struck at 3:17 a.m. local time, has displaced an estimated 15,000 people.
